Genzyme Corporation, Framingham, MA

Primary job responsibilities;
I helped my supervisor run gels and western blots. Also, I ran cell culture protein uptake experiments. Help with any experiments needed.

The only change in my placement was that about halfway through the summer, I began to take the cell culture.

I would rate this placement as very good and I would recommend this site to other students because this internship showed me many things about the biotech industry and about lab work.

I would have liked to have more independence after the 1st couple weeks

To future students I would advise that they get their cover letter and resume looked over by Career Services. Get experience at a lab at school as early as possible.
