Discovery Channel/Animal Planet, New York, NY

Primary Job Responsibilities;
Reviewing DVD submissions from production companies, brainstorming, researching topics, talking with producers and companies on the phone, very little filing, going to staff meetings, attending pre-green light meetings, uploading videos for our database, typing reports for project coverage.

As the weeks went by I went from reviewing submissions and typing up project coverage to making phone calls with my boss to producers and production companies. Also, my participation in brainstorm and green light meetings increased.

I would rate this experience as excellent because this is a fantastic company to work for and I hope to be back here one day. I would recommend this site to other students because it is a great learning environment and wonderful people to work with.

To future students I would advise them to ask questions, there are no stupid ones.
