Primary Responsibilities: I assisted in attending local sporting events, filming, and interviewing. I also participated in the editing and producing of the sports packages.
Changes in Primary Responsibilities: I switched from News to Sports.
Overall, I would rate this experience as Excellent.
I would recommend this site if a student is interested in Broadcast, ABC is a great site. It is a smaller news firm, so interns are able to get more first hand experience.
Advice: Make sure you make your time spent at your internship worthwhile, don't sit around, speak up.
If I could change an aspect of this placement it would be the hours, they are a little difficult for a student (3-11pm) and it's a 40 minute drive.-But that is part of the business.
Fall 2008
Responsibilities: To assist reporters/news room staff and help assignment desk.
Overall Evaluation: Very Good
I would recomment this site to other students because it is a good experience for someone looking to have a career in broadcasting news.
If I could change any aspect of this placement it would be that I would have liked for it to be more hands on from an editing point of view.
Advice: Dont be afraid to ask for things to do.

Changes in Primary Responsibilities: I was given more to write, and allowed to go out in the field more as the internship went along.
Overall, I would rate this experience as excellent.
I would recommend this site to other students because you really learn a lot, and the staffing is great.
If I could change any aspect of this placement it would be that I would have gone more often.
Advice: Being willing to work whenever. Go above and beyond what is needed.
