Abbott Laboratories

Summer/Fall 2008

  1. support process development activities within cell culture group.
  2. benchtop biocreator operation, sampling, data collection, analysis.

The people and environment are great, If you want to learn about biologics manufacturing this is a great place to work. It was a very educational experience I will pursue a summer internship in 2009.

I suggest that if the opportunity comes along, take it!

Summer/Fall 2008

Primary Job Responsibilities: Work with my supervisor to develop experiments. Carry out planned experiments from start to finish including media preparation, cell bark thawing, and taking case of cultures. And do protein A purification in my spare time.

Overall evaluation of experience: Excellent!

I would recommend this site to other students, working at Abbott Lab. was a good learning experience. Abbott is a leader in the bio tech industry and a great place to work.

If I could change one aspect it would be to drive less, I had to drive an hour to and from work everyday.
