Fall 2008
Primary Job Responsibilities: To observe other staff with the children and top take children to the bathroom assist them with lunch and otherwise work with children as I felt comfortable.
Changes in Primary Responsibilities: Yes, over time I needed more hands on with the kids than i did in the beginning.
Overall evaluation of experience: Very Good
Recommend to other Students: Yes, it is an excellent place for students thinking of working with ABA and children with special needs of all sorts.
Change any aspect: It would be that there should be more time to work one-on-one with the kids, but still have a staff member there to show you how to do it correctly in case you accidentally don't follow correct procedures. Putting word icons together. I understand the relevance, but i wish had spent that time working with the kids.
Advice: Make sure you have extra time to devote to this experience. It is very helpful, but also takes more time than one might think.
