Abbott Laboratories, Worcester MA

Responsibilities:
-develop experiments with my supervisor
-carry out planned experiments from start to finish
-media preparation
-Cell bank thawing
-taking cultures
-do purification in spare time
There were no changes in my primary job responsibilities while working here.
This field placement could be rated between excellent and very good. Cell Cultures tended to be more on the biochemistry side, and i didn't get to use the advanced engineering courses much. I would certainly recommend this site for other students. Working at Abbott was a good learning experience. Abbott is a leader in biotechnology and a great place to work.
If i could change anything, i would have like to have been closer to the placement, i had to drive over an hour every day to and from work.
My piece of advice is to make a good resume.
