Gerena Magnet School; Springfield, MA

Job Responsibilities:

  • Making sure students were doing their work

  • Teaching lessons

  • Assisting head teacher with preparing for lessons

  • Helping during lessons

My overall evaluation of the field placement site was excellent. I would highly recommend the Gerena Magnet School because it was very beneficial for teachers who want to work with inner-city students and schools.

If I could change anything I would have wanted to work more but because of my availability constraint, that was not possible.

My advice to students who are thinking about persuing a field experience placement would be to push to get as much out of the field experience as possible.
