Dakin Pioneer Valley; MA

My primary responsibilities were cleaning up after animals, walking dogs, filling out paperwork, aiding in intakes (giving shots, nail clipping, drawing blood, microchips) as well as got to aid in some behavioral evaluations and euthanasia's. There were no major changes in my primary job responsibilities over the time of my placement.

Overall I would rate this placement as Excellent, and I would recommend it to other students for sure because it is a good internship for experience with small animals and it is a small humane society. If I could have changed one thing about this placement I would have liked to have seen more surgeries.

My advice for other students interested in a placement in the future is to get as much field experience as possible and get the most you can out of those experiences.
