Baroco Corp.; Hadley, MA

My responsibilities were spending time with individual clients so together we could achieve specific tasks and goals that they enjoyed participating in. In the beginning i was only assigned 2 separate clients, but as the internship progressed i also started spending one-on-one time with one more client because she was very responsive to me, and highly enjoyed the one-on-one attention.

I would rate this internship as excellent overall, I would recommend this placement for other students. If a student is passionate about going into the DMR/ID field, I would highly recommend it and see it as a great opportunity to fain some experience with the ID population. If i could have changed one thing I would have liked to have been involved in some sort of therapy or counseling experience.

My advice for other students is to be 100% positive that working in this field is what you want got a career. In order to be passionate about something, you have to love what you do. I found that working strictly with the ID population to be very draining.
