Daily Hampshire Gazette; Northampton, MA

Job responsibilities:
-take video
-edit
-create videos for articles
-create media
-manage social media

This field placement was very good and i would recommend other students take part in it if they were interested. I got great video clips for my resume. If I could change one thing about this placement I would have liked less hours of work when they did not need my assistance.

Sesame Workshop; Astoria, NY

Primary Responsibilities;
-Auditioning potential child actors
-Managing the office
-Reading scripts
-Creating and organizing paperwork
-Managing child actors on set
-Entertaining children during down time
-Selecting performers for each show

This placement is excellent in every field and I highly recommend other students to participate in this placement. Everyone who works on the show is extremely nice and willing to teach you any aspect of the production process. Working on set is really fun and being with the kids is great. I would not change anything about this placement.

My advice for other students is that while being on the set is fun, the work is really intense and the days can be long. Always work hard and don't let the excitement of seeing the celebrities or muppets distract you from the work at hand.

UMass Athletics; Amherst, MA

During my internship I worked on the athletic website. The work I did varied but did not drastically change over my intern period.
I would rate my experience as very good.
I would recommend this internship to other students because the atmosphere was fantastic and everyone was friendly and the work was fun.
If I could change one thing about my experience I would have tried to have worked more games and do less computer work.
My advice to other students is to pick something you are interested in, as I did with sports.

Media Education Foundation; Northampton, MA

I was in charge of transferring news and shows from tivo to mini DV tape or DVD everyday. Other responsibilities varied by the day but included research, subtitling, transcribing, capturing video and more.

I would rate this placement as excellent in every category. I would also recommend this placement to other students because it is a wonderful place to intern. They not only respect and appreciate the work you do but challenge you to try new things. They have been extremely helpful and willing to help me learn. The only thing I would consider changing about this placement would be to make it so I was more involved with all the phases of producing documentaries.
