We were social media marketing interns maintaining the twitter, facebook and wordpress account. We also helped with mailings and other work around the office. There were no changes to what was expected of us as the placement progressed.
I rate this field placement as very good overall. I recommend this placement to other students. It was a good experience to see how a small business in Western Massachusetts is operated. If i could have changed anything about this placement, i would have liked a more structured schedule of what we would accomplish throughout the internship.
My advice for other students is to look for things early and make sure you have enough time in your schedule to handle the workload.
Hartford Community Court; Hartford, CT
Intake interviews and assessments, input client information into judicial system, refer clients to inpatient / outpatient programs, preform drug tests, compile and prepare documents for client's court dates, present clients progress and compliance to judge in court. Represent the city of Hartford department of health and human services. There were no changes to what was expected of me over the term of the placement.
I rate this placement as excellent in every category and i highly recommend this opportunity to other students. Interning at the community court will provide you with deep insight into how policy impacts urban communities specifically.
My advice for other students is that the Hartford community court is a "quality of life" court, primarily focused on the rehabilitation of its defendants. With that in mind, it is important to get to know the community and the needs of the community. Take your time to get to know the clients, become familiar with the resources available to Hartford residents and social services clients.
Amherst College Softball; Amherst, MA
I would rate this field placement as excellent in all categories and i would highly recommend this position to other students who are interested. It is a hands on experience instead of reading and testing about how different people learn, you're actually experiencing it and having to figure out which procedures are best for each individual.
My advice to students is to be prepared to need patience, versatility, and don't be afraid to slightly change your plans when situations happen in a workout. Maybe the player needs another focus point that you originally intended. That's OK! Everyone works in a different way and can improve through that difference.
Sustainability Initiative; Amherst, MA
-I was to Promote reduction of waste on campus through recycling projects that raise awareness
-organize events from the location, educational materials, other materials needed, manpower, putting up advertisements
-make meetings with administrators, faculty, and building managers
I would rate this field placement as excellent in every category and i would strongly recommend this as a great place to work for other students. I learned more doing this internship than in any other class. It was fun and relevant to my major and my supervisor was amazing. I had a lot of work, but it was doing things i enjoyed.
My advice to other students is that you will get so much more out of your out college career if you participate in a field experience placement. You will never get this experience through a class and it helped me out significantly when it came to narrowing my future goals.
CBS 3 - Springfield; Springfield, MA
I went from working the Big E Festival to working in the news room over the course of the placement.
I would rate this placement as a very good experience, and i would recommend it to other students interested. If i could change one thing about it i would have liked the location to have been in a nicer place as well as parking.
My advice for other students is to strive for the best, ask what you can so instead of waiting to be told.

I would rate this field placement as excellent in all categories and i would recommend this site for other students without hesitation. Society for Environment and Human Development; Lalmatia, Dhaka-1207, Bangladesh
As an overall rating for this placement I would rate it between very good - average. I would recommend it to other students. The best part of this was the access to the NGO sector as a whole.
